India and Egypt enjoy a strong relationship since Nehru-Nasser era. On the other hand, with an influential cultural realm and in particular with Indian cinema's cult status among the Egyptians across its length and breadth, India is steadily progressing towards channelizing outward bound tourist to India. More than 115,000 Indian tourists visited Egypt in 2011 amidst the transition period.
