INDIAN TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION PROGRAMME

 

Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation(ITEC) is a programme of cooperation and partnership under which India has been sharing its technical expertise with friendly developing countries since 1964.  It is an important component of India’s economic relations with Egypt.  Under this programme of cooperation and partnership, India shares its technical expertise with Egypt. The programme offers training in over 280 courses through 47 training institutions in India in diverse subjects ranging from IT, public administration, audit and accounting, election management, SMEs, entrepreneurship, rural development, parliamentary affairs, renewable energy to name a few.  Over the years, nearly 900 Egyptian government officials have been imparted training under ITEC Programme.

Who can apply?

 

Employees and Officials in Government,  Public Sector, Parastatals, Universities, Chambers of Commerce and Industry having 5 years minimum work experience in the Government and also in relevant field of training programme.

 

Applicants who are between the age group of 25 to 45 years are only eligible to apply.

 

Who are medically fit.

 

How to apply?

 

Applicants are required to upload their applications directly on "Apply for ITEC/SCAAP course" link at the website: www.itecgoi.in. They can choose their own login email ID and create their login password, which would be used by the system to keep them posted of the processing status.  Upload your latest photograph. After a candidate has applied for a course, he/she must take a printout of the application, and Part-II must be completed by the authorized official or the nominating Government/Employer, then send to the Embassy of India, Cairo through Ministry of Investment & International Cooperation, 8 Adly St., Down Town, Cairo. All applications should be forwarded through Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, Egypt.

 

Applications should be complete in all respects with full details of academic as well as professional qualifications. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

 

Eligibility criteria for admission to courses

 

Must have the required academic qualifications as laid down by the Institute for the selected Course.

 

Must have working knowledge of English to follow the Course.  Candidates will have to attend a written test and interview at the Embassy.

 

Scholarship

 

Government of India will bear the following expenses for the selected candidate:

Return international airfare by excursion / economy class

Course fees:

Accommodation – hostel (depending on availability, it could be on single or sharing basis) or hotel in case of non-availability of hostel accommodation. 

Living Allowance @ Rs. 25,000/- per month. Candidates are, among other things, expected to meet the expenditure for their meals from this amount.

 

General Information

 

Applications must reach the Indian Embassy/High Commission before 2/3 months of the commencement of the Course.  Applications received just one month prior to start of the course will not be processed. 

 

Upon selection, the Embassy of India will inform the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation and the applicant.

 

Selected candidates are required to fully familiarize themselves regarding living conditions in India and the Institutes through the websites of the concerned Institute.

Decision for grant of scholarship rests solely with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
