The Egypt - India Friendship Association (EIFA)
About EIFA
EIFA was established in 1952 to promote-people to people relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and India and thereby further strengthen the historic relations between the two countries. The fact that the first President of EIFA was none less than President Mohammed Naguib, the first President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, shows the importance attached to this non-governmental, voluntary organisation.
The Government of Egypt continues to view EIFA as an important platform to promote peoples’ interaction in the political, economic and cultural spheres.
Objectives:
- Cultural exchange between Egypt and India by all means of communication.
- Exchange of data, books and statistics.
- Organisation of exhibitions, conferences and seminars.
- Exchange of visits and trips and provision of facilities and local hospitality.
- Exchange of scholars in an endeavour to get the language of each country taught in the other.
