Kashmir…the garden of dreams
By: Muhga El Dosoki
Between the highest world mountains lies Kashmir. It is the garden of dreams, peace and tranquility. There is no doubt that God had bestowed on it unique sceneries and special charm.
The Himalayas with their ice caps are protecting it from the heat of the valleys and from the cold storms that come from more cold regions. Its land is fertile and produces the best kinds of fruit and flowers.
It has very tall ice-capped mountains, brooks and springs of clear water. It has lots of lakes and forests of pine trees.
The picturesque hills and the nice climate are not the only features that characterize Kashmir, but the valley has fruitful orchards, and gardens full of flowers; it makes one feel happy and feel the greatness of the greater of the universe.
There were different views regarding the creation of Kashmir. Some say that in olden times there lived a tyrant giant. The place was just a wide space of water and he used to get out of water and wrecked havoc. One of the scholars prayed to god that the water may be dried. When it dried, the giant lost his source of power and greenery grew all over the place.
Dal Lake lies in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir and it is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
