The Minister of Investment discusses with the Indian Ambassador the means to enhance economic and investment relations between Egypt and India

The Minister of Investment Dr. Mohy El Din received the new Indian Ambassador Mr. R. Swaminathan on the occasion of his accreditation as a new Ambassador of India to the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Minister welcomed the Indian Ambassador wishing him all the best in his new assignment and to contribute to the promotion of bilateral relations between the two countries in all walks of life. The Minister praised India's supportive role to Egypt in all regional and international fora. The meeting was attended by Mrs. Nevein
Al Shafyie, Deputy Chairman of General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and other officials from the Ministry.

During the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud Mohy El Din reviewed
the developments of the economic and investment relations between Egypt and India and the importance of making use of political, historical and cultural links between the two countries to promote and develop the economic relations.

He reviewed also the situations pertaining to the Indian ventures in Egypt and the available investment opportunities in the fields of industry, services, technology, electronic industries and communication. He also stressed the role of cultural relations and links in developing investment relations and the generation of more investment opportunities between the two countries. The two sides agreed on commencing an executive programme for enhancing joint investments and exchange of visits by investment missions from the two countries.

On his part, the Indian Ambassador referred to the supportive role played by the Ministry of Investment for the existing Indian companies in Egypt and the efforts it exerts to improve the investment climate in Egypt. He also expressed his great interest in encouraging the Indian companies to increase their investments in Egypt.
