Moussa discussed regional security with Indian Foreign Minister
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa and India Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee discussed regional and international situations, especially in Iraq and Lebanon, the Arab Israeli conflict, regional security, the nuclear challenges facing the region and dialogue between civilizations.
Following the meeting yesterday, The Indian Minister said his country supports the Arab peace initiative and the Palestinians to acquire their legitimate rights. The discussions also approached situations in South and East Asia and enhancing the Arab-Indian relations.
Spokesman of the Secretary General Abdel Alim Al Abyiad said the discussions approached the Arab stance on the development of situations in the region, specially the Palestinian issue and the situations in Iraq and Lebanon, and the possible attack on Iran and its far-reaching repercussions. They also discussed the food issue: the shortage of food supply in the world and the necessity to increase investments in the agricultural sector.
