A Panel Discussion on “India-Africa
Relations”
at the Maulana Azad Centre
for Indian Culture, Cairo
The Maulana Azad Centre
for Indian Culture (MACIC), in
cooperation with Egypt-India Friendship Association (EIFA), is organizing a panel discussion on “India-Africa Relations” on Wednesday, 26 May 2010 at 6. 30 p.m. at the Centre’s
premises at 23, Talaat Harb St., Downtown, Cairo.
The
panel will consist of
H. E. Raphael Malonga, Ambassador of the Republic of Congo and Acting Dean of
the African Group of Ambassadors
who
will also preside over the function, Dr Ali El Din
Hilal, President, EIFA, who will moderate the session, H. E. Ambassador Ahmad
Haggag, Secretary General, African Society and H. E. Mr. R. Swaminathan, Ambassador of India to Egypt.
Since times immemorial, India has enjoyed close
relations with the countries of Africa. In recent times, these relations have
further strengthened and become broad based. A
vibrant India and a resurgent Africa are witnessing
an intensification of relations and
growing convergence of interests in
their common quest for sustainable
economic growth and development.
This panel
discussion, which coincides with the
celebration of Africa Day, is a part of a lecture series organised by the
Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture, in
collaboration with EIFA which commenced in
April 2009.
