Indo-Egypt Fertilizer Company bags Investor of the Year Award 2005
The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris, in association with Jordan Investment Board has presented ‘Investor of the Year Award 2005’ to Indo Egyptian fertilizer Company. The company is a joint venture between Indian Farmers and Fertilizers Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and Al Nasr Mining Company of Egypt.
The award was decided by the Middle East & North Africa Investment Ministerial meeting, held on 13th February 2006.
The Indo Egyptian fertilizer Company is setting up a phosphoric acid plant in Edfu with an estimated cost of $325 million, with IFFCO holding 76% of Equity and El Nasr Mining Company, 24%.
IFFCO is a leading fertilizer producer in India, manufacturing and selling chemical fertilizers to 50 million member farmers, represented through 37,000 cooperative societies in India. IFFCO has capacity to produce over 8 million tones of fertilizers annually. IFFCO already has joint ventures for manufacturing fertilizers in Senegal and Oman.
