Visit of Gem & Jewellery delegation from India to Egypt

(February 2006)

 

 

 

        A delegation from the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, India (GJEPC), India headed by Mr. Pankaj Parekh will be visiting Egypt from 9th to 12th February 2006 as a part of a regional tour which includes Morocco, Iran & Cyprus.

 

        During the visit the delegation is expected to interact with Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, importers and others associated with the Gem & Jewellery industry in Egypt and to promote the Indian International Jewellery Show 2006.

 

        A presentation on the strengths and potential of the Indian Gem & Jewellery Industry is also scheduled to take place during the visit.

 

        India's Gem and Jewellery industry is amongst the fastest growing sectors. With designs of international standards and competitive prices, it is no wonder that 11 out of 12 diamonds set in Jewellery worldwide comes from India. With a steady supply of roughs and skilled manpower, India has a tremendous potential to become a global Gem & Jewellery hub. The manufacturing facilities in India are well equipped with the state of the art technology which would be showcased in the India International Jewellery Show 2006 (IIJS) which is scheduled to be held in Mumbai from 4th to 8th May 2006.
