The Egypt - India Friendship Association (EIFA)
About EIFA:
EIFA was established in 1952 to promote-people to people relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and India and thereby further strengthen the historic relations between the two countries. The fact that the first President of EIFA was none less than President Mohammed Naguib, the first President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, shows the importance attached to this non-governmental, voluntary organisation.
The Government of Egypt continues to view EIFA as an important platform to promote peoples’ interaction in the political, economic and cultural spheres.
Objectives:
Cultural exchange between
Exchange of data, books and statistics.
Organisation of exhibitions, conferences
and seminars.
Exchange of visits and trips and
provision of facilities and local hospitality.
Exchange of scholars in an endeavour to
get the language of each country taught in the other.
Issue bulletins, pamphlets and books to promote
understanding and appreciation of the tradition, culture and heritage of each
other.
Organising Sports tournaments
Creation and expansion of pen-friends clubs in the two countries.
