Maulana Azad Essay Competition:

 

    In the memory of the late Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the Founder President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the Council has been holding an annual Maulana Azad Essay Competition since 1989 in three languages, namely Hindi, Urdu and English. This competition is open to all citizens of India and SAARC countries below the age of 30.

The Competition, apart from a certificate, carries the following prize money;

    A special Prize of Rs. 5000/ is also awarded to a participant from other SAARC countries to encourage participation from these countries.

Shankar’s International Children’s Competition:

 

    This competition for drawings/paintings, and written work is held every year in the memory of late Sh.K.Shankar Pillai who dedicated his life to the cause of children. The International Dolls Museum at New Delhi and the Children’s Book Trust are memorable milestones in his achievements as is this Competition envisioned and shaped by him.

The competition which began with the participation of 13 countries, has today swelled to 135 countries, bringing in nearly 1,60,000 entries. An international jury judges the best 2000 paintings, of which 800 are awarded prizes.

The competition is free and is open to children not over 15 years of age on an open theme/subject with a deadline as December 31st of the year in which it is announced.
