Glimpses of India painting competition

Award of Prizes to Egyptian children

To commemorate the birth anniversaries of three great leaders of modern India - Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad - the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC), Embassy of India organized the annual "Glimpses of India" painting competition for school children from 30 September to 11 October, 2007. Over 2000 children from 293 schools of Cairo, Giza and Alexandria participated in the competition.

At a function scheduled at 6 pm on Tuesday, 13 November 2007 at the Al-Salam Theatre [101, Kasrel Eini Street, Garden City, Cairo], the famous Egyptian Poet, Mr. Yakoub El Sharouni will be the Chief Guest and will present prizes to 60 children, who have been adjudged winners from three categories of the competition.
