Mr. E. Ahamed leads the Indian delegation to the International Donors Conference on Palestine held in Paris

 

Mr. E. Ahamed, Minister of State for External Affairs, led the Indian delegation to the International Donors Conference on Palestine held in Paris on 17th December.
 

At the Conference, he announced a fresh assistance of USD 5 million to Palestine in the form of development projects to be identified in consultation with the Palestinian National Authority. In addition to this, he also announced assistance in capacity building through imparting training to 400 Palestinian officials nominated by the Palestinian National Authority under its International Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme over a period of two years. It may be recalled that prior to this Conference, Indias overall contribution to Palestine was more than USD 22 million in assistance.

 

In his statement, Shri Ahamed also emphasized on the need for the international community to come together to contribute to the capacity-building and development of human resources and infrastructure in Palestine to enable their people to live in peace in a sovereign, independent and viable State of Palestine, side by side with the people and the State of Israel.
